Larrivée D40RE Dreadnought Sitka Rosewood
The Larrivée D40RE is kind of a hidden gem if you’re into rich, balanced dreadnoughts. It's got that classic Sitka spruce top for punch and clarity, and the rosewood back and sides give it a warm, deep low end — perfect for everything from bluegrass flatpicking to mellow fingerstyle. What’s cool about the D40 series is that it’s part of Larrivée’s Legacy Series, so you get some of their vintage-inspired bracing and detailing, but still with that clean, modern Larrivée feel.
Basically, it’s like the best of both worlds: bold and articulate, but never too boomy or muddy. Plus, it’s built in California, so you know the craftsmanship is rock solid.
